Brown Bear is a fascinating photography subject
Brown Bear is the largest carnivore in Europe. This apex predator is a powerful animal and truly a wonderful photography target. Certainly, big males, females with cubs and the action in between offer excellent opportunities for photography of Brown Bears!
Variable sites for every taste
Brown Bear photography sites offer possibilities for every taste. Photography hides are located in different habitats to provide variety in backgrounds and action. For example, some face to the setting sun for amazing backlit images, some are located by a pond where Brown Bears swim regularly, while some hides are more specialized in females with cubs. Swimming, climbing and fighting actions can be photographed in the changing seasons of Finland. We recommend at least two nights stay in the hides for successful photography.
Brown Bears spend their winter in hibernation, and start feeding again after spring awakening in April. At wildlife photography and viewing sites, Brown Bears are baited in front of hides with food. From spring to autumn, wild Brown Bears visit these sites regularly during nights. Empty nights are very uncommon.
