Private wildlife watching and photography tours

For over 30 years, our family-run company has specialised in wildlife photography and wildlife watching journeys in Finland. We combine personal guidance, carefully chosen locations and thoughtful planning to create a discreet, unhurried experience in the Nordic wilderness.

Small groups and private departures allow time and space in the field. Our journeys are shaped around light, season and species — whether the focus is iconic birds, large carnivores or the quiet observation of northern nature.

Why travel with us:

  •  Over 30 years of field experience in Finland
  •  Founded and led by professional wildlife photographers
  •  Carefully selected hides and trusted local locations

Wildlife Photography

Finland offers a remarkable range of wildlife photography subjects shaped by light, season and open northern landscapes. Black Grouse displaying on snow-covered leks at dawn, Ruff gathering on spring wetlands, and powerful raptors such as Golden Eagles, Goshawks and Eagle Owls photographed at carefully selected locations are among the specialities we work with.

Large mammals form an equally compelling part of our programme. Brown Bears emerging from hibernation and walking across late spring snow, as well as Wolverines and Wolves moving through remote forest landscapes, offer rare photographic moments that require patience and thoughtful planning.

From September to March, the Northern Lights may also form part of selected departures, adding a distinctly Nordic dimension to the experience.

We organise both private tours and scheduled small-group departures throughout the year. Our journeys extend northwards to Arctic Norway, where seabird colonies and winter landscapes provide further opportunities — including the possibility of photographing Atlantic Puffins in snow-covered coastal scenery.

Each year, we also lead a limited number of carefully selected international photography tours, with recent destinations including Japan, Costa Rica and parts of Africa.

A limited number of carefully selected photography tours abroad complement our Finnish programme.

Wildlife Watching

Wildlife watching has long been an essential part of our work. For many, the experience of observing quietly in the field carries its own depth — without cameras, without haste.

An evening or night in a forest hide can be quietly unforgettable. A Brown Bear crossing snow in spring. Cubs playing at the forest edge. The deliberate movement of a Wolverine, or the rare presence of a Wolf appearing between the trees.

On Lake Saimaa, the Saimaa Ringed Seal — Finland’s only endemic mammal — may be observed in spring and autumn, resting on shoreline rocks in its fragile and unique habitat.

We also arrange dedicated birdwatching journeys, travelling from Finland northwards to Arctic Norway. These are carefully guided observation tours focusing on northern specialities — forest grouse, owls and a wide range of boreal and Arctic species. Among the most sought-after encounters is the Great Grey Owl, a quietly charismatic presence of the northern forests. As always in the wild, patience and good fortune remain part of the experience.

Our Commitment to Wildlife and Community

Our work in nature is not limited to guiding tours. Over the years, we have taken an active role in supporting local birdlife and habitats.

Each year, we install nest boxes and nesting platforms in forest areas, with particular focus on owls. In commercially managed forests, suitable nesting sites are increasingly scarce, and artificial platforms can provide essential breeding opportunities for several species.

Throughout the long Finnish winter, we also maintain feeding sites for birds at four separate locations, supporting resident species during the most demanding months of the year.

In addition, we collaborate with a local vocational school for students with special needs. Together, we carry out maintenance work related to our hides and feeding sites, offering students meaningful, hands-on experience in a real working environment.
